Hi, I bought my Touch in January 09. I thought the software update was supposed to be free for the newest touches? Apple.com just says it is $9.95 without making any distinction for whatever touch you have.

Downloaded ‘150 Great Books for Ten Bucks’ to (I thought!) my iPod Touch G2..
It is NOT on my iPod but rather in:
C:/Documents and Settings/Downloads/My Documents/My Music/itunes/mobile applications/Great Books 2.1.6. ipa
I don’t know how to move this file into my iPod.

Yes, it works OK. I got the support for Syncing two iPods with one iTunes, right here with Ryan. It works with no problems at all. Both iPods can be played through our home stereo systems, and the 30gb is for my personal listening with earphones.
