[Apple iPod] Everything vanished

Did you connect it to the computer to charge it before you tried to play it? If so, I think the computer deleted the files when it couldn’t find the originals in its library.In order for iTunes to put/keep media files on the iPod it has to have access to the originals. Can you play the music/audiobooks on your computer still? Make sure iTunes has access to them and sync again.

That’s what iTunes says when it can’t find the music library on the computer. Did you move them? Are they on another drive?
